Silvia is Austrian (Vienna) and has been studying painting and sculpturing with Prof. Sarath Chandrajeewa at Sapumal Foundation www.ateliersarath.lk for the last couple of years. She has exhibited earlier works at the Lionel Wendt Gallery Colombo in 2008 and in Austria 2010
Her works shown at Park Street Mews from 8th of March to 25th of April 2011 were created during the last year in Sri Lanka using photographic material gathered during travelling in Africa, Asia and South America in combination with light and colour intense acrylic painting techniques on canvas.
Only recently Silvia has started to work in the field of sculpturing under the guidance of Prof. Chandrajeeva at Sapumal foundation. A subject she will continue to develop in her work in the years to come.
Prof. Sarath Chandrajeeva says about his student: “Silvia has a unique and experimental approach to painting. Unlike many other students she is very disciplined and hard working. Silvia is very serious about her artistic work, very energetic and totally focused and absorbed while working.”

Over the last six years in Sri Lanka, Silvia has also engaged intensively with Sri Lankan wisdom and tradition studying Meditation (Vipassana), Yoga, Ayurvedic Medicine and Modern Dance with Kapila Palihawadana Natanda DanceTheatre www.natanda.lk.
