The Bayleaf occupies a beautiful and grand old Colonial home at the bottom of Gregory’s Road in Colombo 7, in the heart of the city’s prized residential and diplomatic district. With culinary flair and inspired creativity, Bayleaf’s chefs have been interpreting traditional Italian cuisine to the great delight of all those in Colombo who value a lovely meal in a wonderful atmosphere.
Come and dine upstairs in one of our dining rooms or choose the lovely balcony that wraps around the first floor. Alternatively, you could dine on the verandah overlooking the beautiful garden and impressive marquee. The latter is a perfect place for those looking for a venue for a stylish dinner party. If you wish to host a small dinner, we can offer you one of our dining rooms upstairs.
Our menu is an ode to all that is delicious and wonderful about Italian food, and is the pride of Bayleaf’s Executive Chef, Saroj, who brings with him over 20 years of experience working in renowned restaurants the world over. You can start with one of our signature Antipasti starters or a delicious soup, before moving on to a main course featuring our Bayleaf-made fresh pastas or fish, meat or vegetarian dishes. As for our indulgent desserts, our Tiramisu and Cassata are to die for. We also a have wide range of wines from which you can choose to accompany your meal.
Worth looking out for are the exciting and interesting Special Promotions, which we feature alongside Harpo’s Pizza of the Month.
The Bayleaf is open from 8:00am until midnight on weekdays and 1:00am on Fridays and Saturdays. We are flexible when it comes to last orders, though generally this is at 11:00pm and midnight respectively. We have a generous selection of vegetarian meals for those of you who prefer not to eat meat or fish.
Either before or after your meal, you can visit our Retro Bar – a delightful cross between a bar and a lounge – for a cocktail or two, where you can enjoy great music played out on its video wall in a convivial and informal atmosphere. It is without doubt “the friendliest bar in town”.
